Katie Evans is a former community college English professor. She spent several years as Senior Editor of a search directory before making the career jump to academia. She is currently teaching continuing education courses on computers, using technology in education, and using technology to manage the family budget. She also teaches gifted students how to make video games.

Katie is a native Floridian, but currently resides in the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee with her husband and 7-year old daughter. Travel is a priority for Katie and her family. She has visited six countries and 25 states, with more trips planned in the coming months. Her favorite travel articles focus on unique, off-beat attractions in common tourist destinations. She is an expert at budget travel, often spending less than $100 per day on food, attractions and accommodations for her family of three.

Katie holds a B.S. in Business Management, an M.A. in English, and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing.
